Maison Parenthese
Two apartments. One private dining residence. A place to settle into Ghent.
Located in Ghent
Along the banks of De Lieve, in the heart of Patershol and a short walk from the Gravensteen, a small collection of spaces unfolds above restaurant De Lieve.
Two apartments. One private dining residence. A place to settle into Ghent.
Designed by MTM Hospitality Group, the residences of Maison Parenthèse combine architectural restraint with the atmosphere of a lived-in home: warm materials, softened light and views that place the city close enough to feel part of the interior itself. Not conceived as hotel rooms, but as addresses.
A familiar address, reimagined
The building takes its name from the river that runs alongside it.
Below Maison Parenthèse sits De Lieve, a contemporary bistro shaped by Belgian sensibility and international influence. The restaurant draws from the warmth and sociability of European dining culture while remaining deeply rooted in Ghent.
Long before its recent revival, De Lieve held the status of a local institution. MTM Hospitality Group brought renewed life to the address through a contemporary interpretation that honours its history while introducing a new rhythm to the neighbourhood.
The atmosphere feels timeless rather than nostalgic: familiar, generous and quietly cosmopolitan.
The Apartments
Spread across the upper floors of De Lieve, the apartments open onto a more intimate rhythm of the city.
Warm timber, natural light and carefully considered proportions shape interiors that feel residential by intention, calm, tactile and quietly precise. Designed to be inhabited rather than simply occupied.
Antoinette - Apartment for up to 6 guests
On the second floor sits Antoinette. Generous in scale and designed for longer stays, the apartment accommodates up to six guests.
Two bedrooms with king-size beds are complemented by a sofa bed within the living room, alongside a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with bathtub.
The atmosphere is relaxed and residential, somewhere between apartment and city retreat. A place where mornings unfold slowly and evenings rarely end on schedule.
Renee - Penthouse apartment in Patershol
Perched on the third floor, Renée unfolds as a quietly atmospheric penthouse above Patershol.
More intimate in scale yet equally generous in atmosphere, the apartment features one king-size bedroom, a sofa bed within the living room, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with bathtub.
Its private terrace opens towards the rooftops of Ghent, with views stretching towards the city’s three towers and the shifting light above Patershol.
Coffee outdoors. Windows open. The city arriving gently.

MTM Hospitality Group
Maison Parenthèse forms part of MTM Hospitality Group, founded by Julien Malingreau and Jean-Michel Teerlinck.
Over the past decade, MTM has contributed to shaping contemporary Ghent through destinations including RAY, Mòris, Eltòn, Circe, Club Dragón, Zwart Wit, Millie Vanillie, with Bianca and Giancarlo soon joining that evolving landscape.
Each project carries its own atmosphere and identity. What connects them is an attention to place, to architecture, ambience and the belief that certain addresses gradually become woven into the life of a city.
With Maison Parenthèse, that philosophy extends naturally into hospitality.
